New location symbolizes modern working environments and future-oriented education
Veritas Verlag is moving to the Tabakfabrik Linz in July. The site is a hub for creativity, innovation, and digitalization. People from 250 organizations work, teach, and learn here. The move marks a local and, above all, cultural shift for the educational media provider – toward the open, networked, and agile working environment that is practiced at the Tabakfabrik. The new office is an expression of a modern educational company that combines innovation and humanity.
Flexible working environments – space for creativity and collaboration
The new Veritas office in the Tabakfabrik is designed to meet the needs of a contemporary working environment. Agile teams work in open-plan spaces with shared desks, managers sit at eye level in the center of the action, and there are also generous home office arrangements. Dialog boxes, quiet spaces, and an integrated working café promote communication and productivity in equal measure.
An environment that rethinks education
“By moving to the Tabakfabrik, we are creating a working environment that aligns with our mission: to make education humane, practical, and future-proof,” says Petra Stangl, Managing Director of Veritas Verlag. “The new location promotes networking and a spirit of innovation and symbolizes our transformation from a traditional book publisher to a holistic educational media partner.”
Thomas Gegenhuber, City Councillor for Economic Affairs and Innovation and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tabakfabrik Linz, emphasizes the strategic importance of the Veritas Verlag’s relocation: “Veritas Verlag’s portfolio combines analog and digital learning media for all school levels, which is an important aspect in times of digital transformation. Digital education is crucial for the skilled personnel of tomorrow – some of today’s students may later contribute to Linz’s innovative strength in one of the IT companies on the Tabakfabrik site.”
Denise Halak, Strategic Managing Director of Tabakfabrik Linz, welcomes the arrival: “I’m delighted that Veritas is expanding our ecosystem. The Tabakfabrik currently houses over 20 industries – this mix is generating new ideas that also enrich the education sector. Together with the educational providers already present on site – such as three institutes of the University of Art and Design Linz, the Evangelische Oberstufenrealgymnasium ROSE, the HTL1, and the team of the learning platform chabaDoo – new perspectives for the education of the future are opening up.”
Markus Eidenberger, Commercial Managing Director of Tabakfabrik, adds: “The transformation of the Tabakfabrik into a leading location for creative and digital industries has been a success. We are flexibly adapting our 90-year-old buildings to meet the needs of modern working environments. From individual studios for artists to smaller offices for startups to open-plan offices for IT companies – we offer the ideal space for everyone.”
80 Years of Veritas – Looking forward
In 2025, Veritas will celebrate its 80th anniversary. Under the motto “Education. Future. Together,” the publishing house not only looks back on a rich corporate history, but above all looks forward: with a strong focus on hybrid learning, digital innovation, and sustainable support for teachers.
